Global Marine Insurance Expands Commercial Marine Department

Erin Deaton Insurance AgentTRAVERSE CITY, MI – Global Marine Insurance has announced that veteran marine insurance professional, Erin Deaton, has joined their team as a commercial marine specialist. She specializes in insurance for marinas and charter, rental and bareboat charter fleets.

Erin brings with her an extensive knowledge of the marine insurance business with experience assisting a diverse array of clients internationally.

“I have worked for the fourth largest insurance broker in the world and the largest privately held wholesale broker in the United States, which has given me the opportunity to work on accounts of all sizes across the country and around the world,” explains Erin, who graduated from the University of Montana.

During the 15 years she has worked in the insurance industry, Erin spent 10 as a marine insurance specialist. She has experience working in both personal and commercial marine insurance, ranging from small pleasure personal watercraft to offshore oil rigs.

“My background has given me great breadth of knowledge and the expertise to help you find the right fit and coverage for your risk,” says Erin.

Born in Michigan and raised in a family of avid boaters and fisherman, Erin describes herself as a water person who grew up on the Great Lakes while also summering in Florida where she explored the Gulf of Mexico. During her university years, she spent her summers on the river in Montana and is never far from water even today.

Global Marine Insurance was founded in Michigan in 1989 and has grown steadily, providing Personal Marine Insurance to boat and yacht owners, and in more recent years Commercial Marine Insurance to boat dealers, manufacturers, boatyards, marinas, watersport schools, yacht clubs and other marine-related businesses.

The company currently employs more than 30 specialists across the US with remote offices in Norfolk, Virginia; Miami, Florida; Seattle, Washington; and Dallas, Texas.
