Best Yachts at the Miami Yacht Show 2020

You can count on February’s Miami Yacht Show to introduce the best yachts of the season. Our yacht insurance specialists agree that this year did not disappoint. It was also one of our last chances to see new yachts this season. Let’s review some of the highlights.

The possibilities included yachts, superyachts, and of course, the new debuts versus incredible pre-owned yachts for sale.

If we had to pick three favorites out of the more than 400 yachts and superyachts that were on display (so hard to do) they would be:

Best name

Hands down, we all fell in love with Miss Moneypenny V. She’s as charming and worthy of bossing James Bond around as you’d expect (though Italian styling on the exterior, not British) and boasts a price tag of $15.5 million. This 2012 yacht boasts triple MTU 4000 engines and easily achieves speeds of upwards of 27 knots. Inside there are four en-suite cabins to sleep nine, a gym, a media room, and a jacuzzi on the aft deck. The interior is light and bright with bleached-teak flooring and limed oak paneling.

Dream charter

If we could charter any yacht for our next yacht insurance industry conference (we can dream, right?), the Bella Vita would have to be top of the list. This beautiful vessel, at 248 feet, was one of the largest on-site at the 2020 Miami Yacht Show. For $700,000 per week, you can hire this luxurious superyacht, which was built by Lurssen as a luxury yacht that can take adventurous boaters over long distances. She has an ice-classed hull, six decks, ample and well-appointed accommodations for 12 guests, a cinema, a gym, and a beauty salon.

Fishing in style

Getting the best catch of the day could only be better aboard the Hatteras Yacht’s GT65 Carolina. Don’t let this vessel’s sleek and stylish looks fool you! The GT65 was designed using advanced resin-infused construction for serious fishing offshore and made her debut at this year’s Miami Yacht Show. The cockpit is large and ideal for fishing, while built-in storage boxes are convenient. There are four staterooms: a generously sized en-suite master stateroom, a forward guest stateroom, and two bunk rooms.
