Matt is a life-long boater and enjoys spending time with his family on Grand Traverse Bay and other Northern Michigan lakes. A graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, Matt uses his years of insurance experience as well as his background in commercial financing and legislative administration to guide our company while supporting the boating industry.
Mike is an original founder of Global Marine Insurance Agency and has served as the company president for 20 years. With 30 years of marine insurance experience and certification as an instructor in the field of yacht insurance for the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents, Mike is actively involved in the National Marine Bankers Association Board of Directors, the Grow Boating initiative, and various other boating industry organizations. Mike has extensive knowledge in the area of commercial marine insurance and heads up the Global Marine commercial department.
Pam is one of the original founders of Global Marine Insurance Agency and has extensive knowledge of yachts, boats, and the marine insurance industry. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University and is respected as one of the industry’s foremost underwriters. Pam and her family are avid downhill skiers and enjoy attending yacht rendezvous all over the country.
When Troy isn’t traveling around the country working with insurance companies and boat dealers to support the boating industry, he can be found on his boat with his family on one of the beautiful lakes in Northern Michigan. A graduate of Michigan State University, Troy has quickly earned the reputation of being one of the hardest working guys in the marine insurance business. His extensive background in finance and insurance allows him to develop relationships and products that benefit our customers and boat dealers around the country.
Barry and his family are boating enthusiasts and enjoy spending family time together fishing, tubing, and water skiing. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and has an extensive background in human resources, operations, and customer service in the insurance and banking industries. As COO, Barry manages all of the internal operations, systems, and customer service for Global Marine.
Mike is one of Global Marine’s most experienced yacht underwriters and is a proud graduate of Michigan State University. His many years of marine insurance experience combined with his background as a crew member on mega yachts give Mike a unique ability to relate to yacht owners and help provide them the insurance coverage that best fits their needs. He has worked hard for a good portion of his career supporting many of the largest yacht dealers in the Southern Florida Market.
Marty is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced marine underwriters in the industry. A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, she uses her years of experience and hard work ethic to fight hard for our customers and find them the best coverage possible. Marty and her husband are strong supporters of the boating industry and enjoy interacting with boaters and dealers at boat shows.
Ben grew up in a boating family and has piloted yachts and boats of all sizes throughout his life. He and his wife enjoy spending time on their boat whenever possible. A former All-American downhill skier and graduate of St. Olaf College, Ben understands the boating lifestyle and enjoys helping boaters find the insurance coverage that best fits their needs.
Shawn and his family enjoy living in Northern Michigan and find pleasure in all of the water related activities the area has to offer. Shawn attended Grand Rapids Junior College and has many years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Global Marine he enjoyed a career as an insurance agent focusing on life, health, auto, and home insurance. His tenacity and passion for helping customers have made him a customer favorite.
Chris and his wife are proud boat owners and enjoy living amongst the beautiful lakes of Northern Michigan. He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and came to Global Marine after years of serving the boating industry as the finance manager of a successful boat dealership. An avid sports fan, Chris enjoys connecting personally with his clients while finding them the best coverage for their needs.
Cass is the cornerstone of our commercial insurance team. She has a strong background in property and casualty insurance and came to Global Marine after years of experience with an independent full service insurance agency. Cass is a dedicated underwriter and works hard to find a market for our commercial-related insurance customers. She enjoys working with boat dealers, marinas, boat rentals, and private lake owners all over the country. A horse lover and owner she enjoys the outdoors and caring for her horses when not working hard for her customers.
Heather helps boat dealers and manufacturers improve both their bottom line and customer satisfaction by providing effective marine insurance solutions. Heather has experience working in many areas of the marine industry, including serving as a yacht crew member and boat dealer marketing specialist. Her experience and keen insight in the business make Heather uniquely qualified to help boat dealers and manufacturers maximize their success.
Jim has spent his life on the water and travels around the country consulting with boat dealers, manufacturers, and other marine business partners. His understanding of the business, coupled with Global’s unique programs, helps dealers and manufacturers meet their customers’ needs while growing their bottom line. A decorated competitive downhill skier and avid water skier, Jim also manages Global’s partnership with USA Water Ski.
